Established in 1992, Coorg Institute of Dental Sciences was established under the aegis of the Coorg Dental and Medical Sciences Trust (R).

CIDS has the approval of the Ministry of Health, Govt. of India. It is recognized by DCI and affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka.

CIDS has garnered recognition from the Dental Council to provide professional education and training for student's to attain the Master's Degree.

Since its inception, the institution has strived to provide comprehensive and interactive education; ethical and compassionate healthcare and a platform for research and innovation.

At present, the institute offers undergraduate BDS course and postgraduate MDS course with various postgraduate specializations.
