Computer Aided Design (CAD) Centre, Kolkata was established in 1985.

It is one of the pioneering institutions of eastern India for training, research, and consultancy services in the emerging areas that it embraces.

The Centre functions under the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Jadavpur University, Kolkata. In 2010, it has reached to its 25 years of academic and research excellence.

The Centre has trained a large number of researchers, academicians, professionals, and students in the preceding technological fields, who have been successful in implementing their training to their work areas.

Feeling the dearth of educational and research facilities, and implementation of new generation technologies the Centre has come up as a state-of-the-art institution for education and research in order to cater to the requirement of emerging technologies like CAD, Multimedia and Animation, Geographic Information Science, and Remote Sensing.
