College of Engineering, Vadakara was established in 1999, formerly known as Co-operative Institute of Techology, Vadakara (CITV).

The college is affiliated to Cochin University of Science and Technology and approved by All India Council for Technical Education.

CITV is the first College established by the Co-operative Academy of Professional Education, Thiruvananthapuram, an undertaking of the Government of Kerala.
The college offers six Engineering streams with a sanctioned strength of 60 students in each branch per year.
2010 onwards College started post graduation program in Computer Application department.
