Biju Patnaik College of Hotel Management & Tourism, Social Work & Journalism (BPCHMT), Bomikhal (Dist. Khordha) was also known as Biju Pattanaik Computer Academy (BPCA), Bomikhal and it was a professional school was established on 17th April 1998 and managed under Biju Pattanaik Memorial organization.

It is one of the premier Institute established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with the Utkal University of Culture, Bhubaneswar and National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), Govt. of India.

It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

The institution was started with a humble objective to provide higher education in professional studies starting from a small computer academy and are now proved themselves as a leading professional institution of the state in Hotel Management, an affordable fees Tourism, Social work, Journalism and provides all including economically affordable fees.

The college was established on commemorating the first death anniversary of Late lamented Biju Pattanaik. The objective of the college is to provide higher education in professional studies starting from a small computer academy.

The Institute that has become an iconic institution in the field of Social Work and Human Resource Management education. This college also provides adult education and development programs.

It is a co-educational self-financed private institute, providing a regular course which is located in an urban part of Khordha played a pioneering role in the field of higher education. the campus is located in another city also has a different name of institutions.

The Institute offers four years bachelor and two years master degree courses in Hotel Management, also offers two years of postgraduate degree courses in Social Work and Journalism & Mass Communication specializations under the Utkal University of Culture, Bhubaneswar. It also offers Post Graduate Diploma course in Hotel Management & Catering Technology.

Apart from it is the only institute of the state which provides vocational training courses for self-employment under National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), Govt. of India with 80 seats.
