Bombay Physical Culture Association's College of Physical Education, Mumbai was popularly known as BPCA's College of Physical Education, Mumbai was established on 20th June 1978 under the management of Bombay Physical Culture Association (Estd: 29th June 1935) and was also known as “Mumbai Sharirik Shikshan Mandal” in Marathi version.
It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
The college is permanently affiliated to the University of Mumbai, Mumbai and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) in October 1994 under Act, 1956.
It is also recognized & approved by Govt. of Maharashtra as an aided college and as well recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhopal.
It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade (CGPA Score 3.29 on a 4 Point Scale in 3rd Cycle) on 25th May 2016.

The college offers two years Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) course for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.
Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.
The college offers two years Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) course for those who have completed their Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) with the minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.
