Bhilai Maitri College, Bhilai was established in 2002 and started with an aim to provide a facility of higher education within the reach of every section of the society by charging reasonable fees and at the same time providing quality education with all required facilities.

The college is affiliated to Pt. Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Raipur and recognized by National Council for Teacher Education, Bhopal. It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B+" Grade.

The college aims to train the students to become worthy citizens of India by inculcating the sense of duty & discipline by imparting scientific, social, moral and physical education under the principle of secularism.

The institute offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course under Pt. Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Raipur for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.

The college also offers two years Diploma in Education (D.Ed) course under Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education, Raipur and offers two years Master in Education (M.Ed) course under Pt. Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Raipur.

It also offers two years Diploma in Elementry Education (D.El.Ed.) course under Pt. Sundarlal Sharma Open University, Bilaspur.

Various teaching and learning techniques are being used by the faculty to impart knowledge and skills to students at Bhilai Maitri College, Bhilai in its various departments.
