Bhavnagar University Department of Sociology, Bhavnagar was established in 1989 and affiliated to Bhavnagar University.

The Department of Sociology is a part of Bhavnagar University, has grown both qualitatively and quantitatively over the years.

The programmes offered both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels are divers and have made strong marks of recognition.

Bhavnagar University plans to continue to respond creatively to the considerable challenges of our time, whether it is building the knowledge workforce of the future, collaborating on research on national security or providing solutions for sustainable business practice.

A variety of teaching and learning techniques are employed to impart knowledge and skills to students of the College.

Bhavnagar University was established in 1978 by the state of Gujarat and the total area of the Campus is spread over 3 locations. Bhavnagar University is providing high quality of Teaching and Research in faculties as diverse as Science, Arts, Commerce, Engineering, Medicine, Management, Rural Studies and Law.

The University has at present 20 Post Graduate Departments and 4 Recognized Institutes.
