Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Institute of Environment Education & Research (BVIEER), Pune was established in 1993.

Its affiliated to Bharati Vidyapeeth University.

The BVIEER is a unique educational and research, its major focus is to spread the message of the need for pro-environmental action in society at large through a dual strategy of formal and non –formal integrated activities.

BVIEER is a one of a kind institution that caters to the need of Environment Education at all levels - PhD, M.Sc and Diploma. This range of integrated academics, research and outreach programs is a unique feature which strengthens the academic initiatives.

The distinctive characteristics of BVIEER are its wide mandate of teaching, research and extension.

The institute organizing field visits to different types of natural and industrial sites to get first hand information about the realities of the environment, students

are encouraged to take up community environmental action programs, enhance understanding of ground realities through interactions with NGOs and community members. Encourage interactions with school students and teachers through the School Environment Education Programs.
