Bhai Asa Singh Girls College, Bathinda was established by ‘Bhai Jagta Ji Educational Society, Goniana Mandi’, which is registered under the society Registration Act 1860 and amended by Punjab Amendment Act 1957.

The college was affiliated with Punjabi University, Patiala, in 1975.

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accredited the college with a B+ in 2003 which put it on a higher level than many other colleges in this area.
