Bengtol College, Bengtol was established in 1981 situated at the nerve centre of Chirang District of Bodoland Teritorial Council (BTC), Assam.

It is one of the premier college of the Bodoland of Assam  and the college has been deficited in 2009 by the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC). Bengtol College is an epitome of the entire northern part of Bodoland area.

The college is affiliated to Gauhati University, Guwahati in 1999. It also granted permanent affiliation by Gauhati University, Guwahati in 2009 and recognised under section 2(F) & 12(B) of UGC Act, 1956, New Delhi.

The area of the college comprises Bengtol, Tukrajhar, Runikhata, Shantipur, Datgiri, Koilamoila, Kajalgaon, Kashikotra, Amguri and so on and situated at 184 km away from Guwahati city.

The nomenclature Bengtol College was given by the name of place Bengtol. The name of Bengtol was known by a big Weekly market in the erstwhile Goalpara district and presently in the Bodoland Territorial Council area as well as in the entire lower Assam area. Historically, this place was under Bhutan Doors known as Chirang Doors.

The place is connected with all important places and towns and even the border town of Bhutan through road network.

Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University (KKHSOU), Guwahati - Bengtol College opened a Study Center of KKHSOU on 19th November, 2009 with the purpose of imparting education to the underprivileged and needy candidates. Sukrajeet Daimary, H.O.D. & Astt. Prof. Deptt. of Bodo, has been rendering his best effort in running the centre since its inception.
