Established on 7th August 1999, Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, New Delhi is also called by the name BCIHMCT New Delhi.

BCIHMCT New Delhi is a registered society and an autonomous institute that is under the governance of Shri Banarsidas Chandiwala Sewa Smarak Trust Society. This society is a charitable society that has been working since 1952 in the areas of education and health.

Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, New Delhi is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. The institute was recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

On 7th August 2015, it was also recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and on 2nd June 2015, it was recognised by the Directorate of Training and Technical Education (DTTE), Delhi.

On 5th November 2016, BCIHMCT New Delhi was re-accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade (CGPA score 3.13 on a 4 Point Scale in the 2nd cycle).

The institute aims at providing education to its students through various extracurricular activities and methodologies, knowledge which will help in the holistic development of the individual. The institute offers postgraduate, undergraduate, diploma and add-on certificate courses in the field of hotel management.

The Outlook-MDRA has ranked Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, New Delhi in the list of India’s 10 Best Professional Hotel Management Colleges in the Country for the past seven years.

The Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India has ranked it as one of the best institutes in the field of hotel management. The Delhi Government and the GGSIP University have judged it as an A+ Category Institute among all hotel management institutes.

The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University conducts the Common Entrance Test (CET) and admissions are given based completely on merit. Counselling is also provided to the students by the university.

The college consists Women Cell to help female students. This cell helps and guides girls to sort out from their personal problem and avoid them from any harassment
