B.V.V. Sangha's Basaveshwar College of Physical Education, Bagalkot was established on 1st June 1982 and managed under the Shri Basaveshwar Vidya Vardhak Sangha, Bagalkot, which was established in 1906.

Shri B.V.V.Sangha is a pioneer educational institution established with the blessings of His Holiness Sri.Guru Basava Maha Swamiji of Biluru in 1906.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to Karnatak University, Dharwad and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) in February 1994 & 12(B) in July 1996 under Act, 1956.

It is also recognized & approved by National Council for Technical Education (NCTE), Bengaluru and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (CGPA Score 3.30 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) in February 2016.

The main aim of the college is to respond to the changing needs and expectations of physical education and sports environment with the knowledge of directing students life towards a worthwhile goal. Developing a sense of discipline dedication, determination and civic responsibility for social commitment.

The college offers two years Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) course for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.

The college offers two years Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) course for those who have completed their Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) with the minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.
