B. D. Kale College Ghodegaon (Dist. Pune) was established in June 1989 and managed by Ambegaon Taluka Vidya Vikas (ATVV) Mandal (R), which was established in 1954.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade.

The aim of the college is to bring to this economically underdeveloped region, contemporarily relevant and modern courses and subjects.

It is a co-educational private Institute, providing a regular course in which is located in the tribal part of Pune played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

Firstly, the college started commerce faculty. In 1991, Arts faculty was started. After realizing it, PG courses like M.A. (Marathi) and M.Com were begun in 2004.

Apart from the knowledge of humanities, students must have the understanding of vocational courses, especially knowledge of computer system. In order to make the students well-informed in the computer system, the college started Bachelor of Computer Application, a degree course under commerce faculty.

The college had 62 students at the beginning of the college but now it has become a home for 964 students and that's their development

The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student's admission is done as per the admission criteria prescribed by the affiliating university.

The college had received many awards and accolades at a city, state and national level for their educational advancements also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of sports and curricular activities under Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses and two years of postgraduate courses in Arts, Commerce, and Science streams with various specializations under Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. It also offers Add-On Certificate course.

Students should have to choose one honor (core) subject with two or more as subsidiary (elective) subjects for the specific undergraduate streams.

The college also offers distance education mode courses under Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU), Nashik.

University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune, and various other examinations are held in the college premises.
