Banarsi Dass Arya Girls College, Jalandhar was popularly known as B.D. Arya Girls College established on 7th July 1964 but college came into existence in 1970 and managed by Arya Samaj Educational Society.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) on 31st March 1998 & 12(B) on 15th January 2008 under Act, 1956.

It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade (CGPA Score 2.67 on a 4 Point  Scale in 1st Cycle) on 4th February 2008.

The aim of the college is not only to pursue academic excellence but also to motivate and empower its students to be life-long learners, critical thinkers and productive members of an ever-changing global society.

It is a woman private college, providing a regular course which is located in an urban part of a Jalandhar played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student's admission is done as per the Admission Criteria prescribed by the Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.

The college has receives many awards and prizes annually recognize in the field of the excellent performers in Sports, Culture, and Academics. Every year 100s of students are honored for their outstanding performance in Sports, Culture, and Academics.

As a part of the extension service to society, the college offers a number of welfare schemes in collaboration with U.G.C., particularly to the disadvantaged and physically challenged students.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Bussiness Administration (B.B.A.), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) streams with various specializations under Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.

The college also offers two years postgraduate courses in Arts, Commerce, and Science streams with various specializations to the students and offers various post-graduate diploma, self-financing Add-On courses as well.
