Annasaheb Gundewar College, Nagpur was established in 1984 and managed by Village Uplift Society, Nagpur which was established in 1960.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade (CGPA Score 2.50 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 4th May 2014.

The aim of the college is to provide the opportunity for higher education to the socially and economically backward students in the North-East suburban of Nagpur, in the memory of Lokneta Annasaheb Gundewar.

It is a co-educational private Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Nagpur played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college has reached the strength of 47 students in the year 1984 to 2100 students in the Silver Jubilee Year. The college has gradually developed into a large and ideal higher educational campus with various educational schemes undertaken with the favor of U.G.C.

The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student's admission is done as per the admission criteria prescribed by the affiliating university.

The college had received many awards and accolades at a city, state and national level for their educational advancements also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of sports and curricular activities under Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts, Commerce, and Management streams with various specializations and offers two years of postgraduate courses in Arts and Commerce streams with various specializations under Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur.

Students should have to choose one honor (core) subject with two or more as subsidiary (elective) subjects for the specific undergraduate streams.

The college also offers distance education mode courses under Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU), Nashik.

University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur and various other examinations are held in the college premises.

The college has a large playground with well-equipment for different sports like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton and so on
A medical facility has been available in the college for the benefit of the students
State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
The institution has provided ICT facilities like computers, projectors, audio-visual gadgets, scanners and printers to the departments and also other aids and a huge number of availability of books for effective delivery of curriculum and for inculcating the knowledge of the subject
A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
To sharpen the skill of students and their personality development, various curricular and extra-curricular activities are the regular features of the institution
The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college
The college Unit NSS Wing performs different type of social services within and outside of the area
The college also organizes workshops, seminars, and conferences for improving teaching skills and methodology
The college consists Women Cell to help female students. This cell helps and guides girls to sort out from their personal problem and avoid them from any harassment
