Andra Pradesh University of Law, Vishakapatnam was established in 2008.

Their objective is to build on the traditional ethos of Andhra Pradesh and create a temple of learning.

It aims at imparting quality legal education and organize advanced studies and research in all branches of law.

To provide quality multi-disciplinary education in legal studies, keeping in view the demands of the global economy and the needs of the domestic society.

To promote inter discipline study of law in relation to Management, Technology, International Cooperation and Development.

A.P. University of Law Act has provided in Section 8(1) that the Chancellor of the University be appointed by the Government from amongst the persons of eminence in the field of law and by virtue of this provision the Government of A.P. was pleased to appoint Prof. A. Lakshminath as Chancellor of A.P. University of Law.
