A.B. Women's Degree College, Alakunda (Dist. Jajpur) was also known as Anchalika Baladevjew Women's Degree College, Alakunda was established in 1988 and managed by Local Body of the Odisha.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with the Utkal University, Bhubaneshwar and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 1989 under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

The aim of the college is to provide students with the knowledge and skills they need in this era of information and teaching and as well as to provide an ideal environment to develop a mental, Physical, the social and spiritual level of students.

It is a women's private Institute, providing a regular course which is located in a rural part of a Bhubneshwar played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student's admission is done as per the Admission Criteria prescribed by the affiliating university.

The college has awarded as the best college by the affiliating university and also a number of awards in publication, offering scholarship & also awarded by the different society.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts and Science streams with various specializations under Utkal University, Bhubaneshwar. Students should have to choose one honor (core) subject with two or more as subsidiary (elective) subjects for the specific undergraduate streams.
