Anandapur College, Anandapur (Dist. Kendujhar) was also known as Anandapur Degree College, Anandapur was established in July 1964 which was founded by Sri A.C.Dehury the S.D.O. of Anandapur and with Local Body of the Odisha.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with the North Orissa University, Baripada and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade (CGPA Score 2.60 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 14th September 2015.

The Anandapur College is situated on the bank of the sacred river Baitarani. The college completes its forty-five years of existence, fulfilling the long cherished desire of the people of this sub-division for higher education.

The pioneering efforts of Sri A.C. Dehury, then the S.D.O. Anandapur, benevolent efforts of some young gentleman of the locality, generous contributions of the people of Anandapur and financial help received from all the Panchayats under the sub-division brought the long cherished dream of the public of the locality into a reality.

The aim of the college is to provide students with the knowledge and skills they need in this era of information and teaching and as well as to provide an ideal environment to develop a mental, Physical, the social and spiritual level of students.

Anandapur college was originally started functioning in Anand Bhawan, the Town Hall of Anandapur, in the month of July 1964 and later after 3 years the college was shifted to their new campus in Anandapur.

It is a co-educational private Institute, providing a regular course which is located in an urban part of a Kendujhar played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college originally started functioning in Ananda Bhawan, the Town Hall of Anandapur, in the month of July 1964 with a strength of only 90 students and 6 lecturers. After about 3 years the college was finally shifted to the present site where a number of buildings have now come up.

The college has been steadily progressing and expanding in all respects due to the efficient management of the successive Governing Bodies, various awards received from the State Government and co-operation of the people of the sub-division.

It is now a full-fledged degree college in Arts, Science and Commerce with Honors teaching facility in English, Odia, Economics, History, Political Science, Sanskrit, Philosophy, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Botany, Zoology, and Commerce. The strength of the students has gone up to 2000 and that of the teaching staff has increased to 52.

The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student's admission is done as per the Admission Criteria prescribed by the affiliating university.

The college has awarded as the best college by the affiliating university and also a number of awards in publication, offering scholarship & also awarded by the different society.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts, Science, and Commerce streams with various specializations under North Orissa University, Baripada. Students should have to choose one honor (core) subject with two or more as subsidiary (elective) subjects for the specific undergraduate streams.
