Amal College of Advanced Studies, Nilambur (Dist. Malappuram) was established in 2005 under the management of Nilambur Muslim Orphanage Committee, Nilambur (Estd.1969).

It is one of the premier minority colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with the University of Calicut, Malappuram and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on under Act, 1956.

It is a co-educational college, providing regular courses at primarily the higher secondary and undergraduate levels which are located in a rural part of a Nilambur played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

Twenty percent of seats in all the courses are reserved for orphans and destitute and another twenty percent is reserved for SC/STs. The college and its hostels are open to students of all castes and creeds and provide amenities for the creation of an atmosphere of universal brotherhood through value-based education.

The college is located in Santhigramam, a picturesque campus in Eranhimangad, on the banks of river Chaliyar, 4 km from Nilambur, a place well known for tribal settlements and teak plantations. The college is 1 km from the Calicut-Nilambur-Ootty Road and 3 km from the Nilambur Railway Station and 8 km from the Adyan Para waterfalls tourist spot.

The college was shifted to the new campus at Santhigramam, Myladi on 1st January 2007. The construction of Commerce Block and Humanities Block were completed with the support of M/s Skyline Builders and Structures, Thiruvananthapuram and are dedicated to the fond memories of their founder Sri.Krishnan.

The construction of BTHM Block and Canteen Block are under the Local Area Development Scheme of Jb. P.V. Abdul Wahab M.P and Jb. Abdussamad Samadani M.P. The construction of the Administrative Block, Student’s Centre and Library Block is expected to commence shortly.

The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student's admission is done as per the Admission Criteria prescribed by the affiliating university.

The college has awarded as the best college by the affiliating university and also a number of awards in publication, offering scholarship & also awarded by the different society.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, & Management streams with optional specializations and offers two years postgraduate courses in Arts stream with English specialization under the University of Calicut, Malappuram. It also offers Add-On Certificate courses.

State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
To sharpen the skill of students and their personality development, various curricular and extra-curricular activities are the regular features of the institution
The college also organizes workshops, seminars, and conferences for improving teaching skills and methodology
