About Alva's College of Physical Education

Alva's Education Foundation (R) established the Alva's College of Physical Education in 2005 to impart & provide higher physical education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

At present, the college is affiliated to the Mangalore University, Mangaluru. It is recognized & approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bengaluru.

It was accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.49 on a 4 Point Scale in 1st Cycle) on March 23, 2013.

The main aim of the college is determined to provide the co-educational quality education to the young aspirants. With the correct mix of technology and human touch, the college empowers the aspiring students to propagate education through the rungs of the society so that they serve the nation while making a satisfying career for themselves.

At present, the college offers two years Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) course for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled to a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.

The college also offers two years Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) course for those who have completed their Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)in Health and Physical Education with the minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation in those subjects from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the graduation level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled to a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.

Admissions here done on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance exam written, fitness, interview, and percentage of the qualifying exam or any other selection process and also as per the norms and conditions of the state government and affiliating university.

Various teaching and learning techniques are being used by the faculty to impart knowledge and skills to students at Alva’s College of Physical Education in its various departments.

State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
To sharpen the skill of students and their personality development, various curricular and extra-curricular activities are the regular features of the institution
The college also organizes workshops, seminars, and conferences for improving teaching skills and methodology
The college consists Women Cell to help female students. This cell helps and guides girls to sort out from their personal problem and avoid them from any harassment
