All India Institute of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (AIIPMR), Mumbai was established in 1955 as a pilot project, with technical expertise and manpower support from the UNITED NATIONS ORGANISATION, with planning and collaboration by an Indian expert late DR M.V. SANT, the institute came under the administrative control of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India in 1961. The institute is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. The unique feature of this apex institute is that all disciplines of rehabilitation have existed right from the inception of the Institute and the very well qualified, devoted and committed staff members have been rendering quality services and providing a high degree of training as a well coordinated team. This is reflected in the satisfaction expressed by the patients and the positive feedback from the visitors to the Institute.
