Akhand Anand Arts & Commerce College, Surat was established in 1992 by Akhand Anand Vidhya Bhavan Trust, Surat which was established on 10th October 1983 by Shri Popatlal Moolshankar Vyas.

It is one of the premier institutions to impart & provide a platform in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the path of progress.

The college is affiliated to Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) 1955 & 12(B) under Act, 1956. It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "C" Grade - (CGPA Score 1.92 on a 4 Point Scale in 1st Cycle) in 2009.

It was a pleasant co-incident that when the honorable ex-home minister, a devoted freedom fighter, Co-operative leader and a humble social worker, Shri Popatlal Vyas visited Ved Road, as a part of his election campaign for the Surat Municipal Corporation’s by-election; he was moved by the backwardness of this area. He felt that he must do something for this undeveloped area, and after a deep thought, he realized that it was only education that he could transform this area.
 
He followed his inspiration and lightens the lamp of knowledge by starting an institution of education 25 years back. It started its primary and pre-primary section from 1st July 1984 onwards. It was further extended into its secondary and higher secondary sections in 1986 and 1989 respectively.

At present Akhand Anand Vidhya Bhavan trust is managing a complete education institution from nursery to college level. Akhand Anand Arts and Commerce College was started from June 1992 to fulfill the need of higher education for the students of Surat City.

There is area more than 1308 students learning in this college. It is permanently affiliated to Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat in the faculty of commerce and Arts.

This college has the facility to teach the student up to graduation level. The students of Varachha, Ved, Dabholi, Singanpor, Udhana and Surat have been fortunate to get the facility of higher studies in their own area.    

This college has been successful in creating a very positive and healthy atmosphere of teaching and learning which is an essential part of education.

The institute offers two years Degree courses in Arts & Commerce stream under Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat and also offers some certificate courses and add-on courses.

• To develop Numerical abilities and analytical aptitude by theoretical training to the students of commerce faculty
• To develop creativity among the students through the application of basic skills of language
• To encourage the students to strengthen their classroom learning through various activities to get them equipped for employment opportunities or self – employment
• To create environmental awareness within and without the format of the syllabus

Rules and Regulations at Akhand Anand Arts & Commerce College, Surat:

• Every student is expected to follow the disciplinary rules of the college. The subject once chosen cannot be changed and Violation of the rules will lead to strict action
• It is compulsory to appear in the internal tests conducted by the college. In the case of illness, the parents/guardian shall inform the college in writing along with a medical certificate, within three days from the commencement of examination
• 75 % is essential for appearing for university examination, failing which the term of the student will be canceled.

  Attendance will be marked in every period and a student who remains absent in one period will lose the whole day's attendance. If a student remains absent due to illness, he /she will have to submit a written application along with a medical certificate

• Students who remain absent in the internal tests will not be eligible for appearing for the university exam. The examination forms of those students who fail in 50% or more subjects in the internal assessment will be withdrawn
• Fees must be paid on the dates announced and at the specified time. Otherwise, admission will be canceled automatically
• As per the rules of the university, every student has the responsibility to submit examination forms and fees in time and the college, under any circumstances, will not accept late forms and fees
• Students should procure their identity cards and renew them after each Semester. No student will be allowed to enter the campus or attend lectures without the identity card. If the card is lost, a duplicate card can be obtained from the college library by paying prescribed fee
• Strict disciplinary action will be taken against students who misbehave with the college staff or cause damage to college property. Bringing outside in the college campus is punishable
• Any instruction from the college and teachers should be obeyed by the student. Strict action will be taken if anyone is found dishonoring such instructions
• The admission of a student who bunks lectures and moves about on the campus will be canceled. Irresponsible students will not be admitted to the next Semester.
• Admission obtained providing wrong, unclear and incomplete information will be canceled
• Vehicles should be parked in the parking zone. Nobody will be allowed to park vehicles on the campus after college timing. Do not park vehicles on the campus.
• Smoking and pan masala chewing are strictly prohibited on the campus. Those who spit pan or move masala will be punished
• Strict action will be taken against students who do not keep mobile phones switched off in the classroom and on the lobby
• Ragging is a criminal offense. If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the college authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his/her explanation is not found satisfactory, the college authority would expel him/her from the college
