Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute (AEC&RI), Trichy was established in 1972, as a constituent educational institution of the prestigious Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in Coimbatore. The college was shifted to Kumulur in 1992.

Campus of Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute: The campus is at a distance of 25 km from Trichy. This campus has been extended in an area of 280 acres of experimental farm, updated with infrastructural facilities for academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

Mission:

To produce the technocrats towards the challenges of population explosion, labour shortage, ethnic energy crisis, food and fuel shortages, intensive resource inventory towards alleviation of poverty and environmental stress.
