Established in 1991, Acharya Narendra Dev College is a constituent college of University of Delhi imparting higher education in the field of Science and Commerce for deserving aspirants.

Started with an allotment of four rooms in an SPS structure in R. K. Puram Sector 4 School, the college enrolled its first batch of students and began its teaching programs with two courses, i.e. B.Com. Honours and B.Sc General 'A' and eighty students.

In 1992, the college moved to its current temporary premises in Govindpuri vacated by Shaheed Bhagat Singh College and started with B.Sc (Hons) Electronics and B.Sc General Computer Science.

Later, the college added B.Sc (Hons) in Physics and Chemistry in 1993, Botany, Zoology and Mathematics in 1994, B.Sc General 'B' group and B.Sc General Sericulture in 1995 and PGDCA in 1996. Soon, B.Sc (Hons) Computer Science and BCA courses in 1997 and a Bachelors in Information Technology & B. Information Science in 1998 were started.

In 2003, the Foreign Language Centre was established with certificate courses in French, Spanish, German and Russian. Two years later the higher module of Diploma in foreign languages was also established.

It was accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade - (CGPA Score 3.31 on a 4 Point Scale in 1st Cycle) on March 29, 2016.

In academic session 2015-16, all courses of the college switched to Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) as per adoption of National Curriculum of UGC by University of Delhi.

To create an education and research-oriented hub of eminence in India with international standards. We envisage proffering quality education to our students while emboldening them with diverse exposure and hands-on research

The mission of the college is to empower students by giving them exposure to cutting-edge areas of education and research by promoting inter-disciplinary studies and learning beyond the shackles of textbook knowledge; To impart functional knowledge which not only motivates students towards academic excellence but also preparing them for giving back to society in economic, social, cultural and intellectual dimensions
