A.S.Patil College of Commerce, Bijapur was established in 1961. The college is permanently affiliated to the Karnataka University, Dharwad (KUD).

Under B.L.D.E Associations, is an independent commerce college. It has grown like a big banyan tree and approximately 1200 students are studying in the college.

The college has been accredited at the B++ level by NAAC in 2004.

The goals and objectives of the college aim at enriching the present situation while embracing the future challenges. The college has bagged 33 university ranks and 9 gold medals in different subject since its inception.
