Padmashali Shikshan Sanstha's A. R. Burla Mahila Varishtha Mahavidyalaya, Solapur is a Linguistic Minority Institution was established on 20th August 1990 and managed by Padmashali Shikshan Sanstha (R), which was established in 1912.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with University of Solapur, Solapur and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) on 7th December 2006 & 12(B) on 16th August 2013 under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade (in 2nd Cycle) on 10th March 2012.

The aim of the college is developing students with an all-round personality also focus on other aspects such as moral value based education, sports, games, cultural, co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

It is a women's private Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Solapur played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

On 3rd November 1943, began the Sanstha's first new school 'Kuchan High School with only 42 Students. Today the school is run in their own independent building and has approximately 3000 students.
 
This is the only institution in Maharashtra where students can seek education in Telugu right from the VIII Std. to X Std. Professional courses are also being conducted in the same building.

Today, Padmashali Shikshan Sanstha run about 27 educational institutions. A.R. Burla Mahavidyalaya, is the only senior college, one technical institute, one professional Shikshan Vibhag, six secondary schools, five primary schools, and seven Nurseries.

The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student's admission is done as per the admission criteria prescribed by the affiliating university.

The college had received many awards and accolades at a city, state and national level for their educational advancements also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of sports and curricular activities under the University of Solapur, Solapur.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts and Commerce streams with various specializations under the University of Solapur, Solapur. It also offers Ph.D. courses.

University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by the University of Solapur, Solapur, and various other examinations are held in the college premises.
