Persian also known by its endonym Farsi is a Western Iranian language belonging to the Iranian branch of the Indo-Iranian subdivision of the Indo-European languages. Persian is a pluricentric language predominantly spoken and used officially within Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan in three mutually intelligible standard varieties, namely Iranian Persian, Dari Persian and Tajiki Persian.Those whose mother tongue it is have a responsibility to learn to read and write it, and those who live in the regions where it is widely spoken have an advantage in learning the native tongue. Persian is one of the optional language subjects in the Andhra Pradesh State Education System.
