The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has announced a re-examination for the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE)-5 2026 conducted for seven specific group codes. The decision follows the CRE-5 examination held from July 25 to July 27, 2026, and has been taken based on the recommendations of an expert committee with the approval of the competent authority.
According to the official notification, the examination conducted earlier for these seven group codes will not be considered for the preparation of the final merit list. Instead, eligible candidates will have to appear for a fresh examination, and only the performance in the re-exam will be taken into account for the recruitment process. AIIMS has clarified that the re-examination is limited to candidates who appeared under the seven specified group codes. Aspirants belonging to all other group codes are not affected by this decision, and their recruitment process will continue as per the original schedule. The institute has also confirmed that candidates who were issued admit cards for the affected group codes will receive fresh admit cards for the re-examination. However, the issuance of new hall tickets will be subject to the verification of official examination records and fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility conditions. While the exact date of the re-examination has not yet been announced, AIIMS has informed candidates that the exam may be conducted at short notice. However, the institute has assured applicants that they will receive at least 10 days' advance notice before the examination date. The detailed schedule, including the exam date, timing, examination centres, and admit card release date, will be notified separately on the official AIIMS recruitment portal. The re-examination is applicable only to: Candidates who appeared in AIIMS CRE-5 2026 under the seven specified group codes.
