Aligarh Muslim University is organizing a 2-week Hockey Coaching Camp

The Aligarh Muslim University Hockey Club is organizing a two-week Hockey Coaching Camp for school students (boys) of AMU and Aligarh district. The camp will commence from June 19 and will conclude on July 2, 2013.

Dr. Mohammad Shoaib Zaheer, President, Hockey Club said that the objective behind organizing this camp is to nurture young talent and prepare them to become state and national level players. He urged the school boys to join the camp in large numbers and register their presence at the University Hockey Ground at 4:30 pm.

All school boys are requested to join the camp. The timing will be from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM.

In AMU sports and games activities are organized under the patronage of University Games Committee with Vice-Chancellor as Chairman, & Secretary & Presidents of Clubs, who are members of teaching staff. The University Games Committee consists of 15 main clubs & sub clubs. AMU has given the country some of the best sportsmen of national and international fame.

Among Olympic hockey players, Abdul Qayyum, Akhtar Husain Hayat, Ali Saeed, Anwar Ahmad, Asad Ali Kidwai, Aslam Sher Khan, Dorai Swamy, B.P. Govinda, Inamur Rehman, Jogender Singh, Mosood Minhaj & Zafar Iqbal were students of AMU.
