Interesting Features of the New Parliament of India

The New Parliament of India is ready to be inaugurated on May 28, 2023.

The Parliament is representative of the population of India as a whole and, the Parliament is magnificent!

Let’s look into the unique features of the new Parliament of India:

The new Parliament is a triangular edifice built along the lines of the Central Vista structures.

It houses the Lok Sabha, the Rajya Sabha, the Central Lounge, and the Constitutional Authorities' offices.

The construction covers a total area of 64,500 square meters.

The newly constructed building, as a whole, incorporates architectural elements from key heritage buildings in India, such as the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Six Committee rooms will be housed in the new structure.

Two members will be able to sit side by side on each bench in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Chambers in the new structure.

The new Lok Sabha Chamber is modeled after India's National Bird, the Peacock.

The new Rajya Sabha Chamber, on the other hand, is reminiscent of the Lotus, India's National Flower.
