Try to use mind maps, tricks, and short forms to revise the syllabus. It should take less time than what it took in the earlier round.

Always make notes and shortlist topics. Try to make notes from the second reading onwards. When you make notes, write in your own words.
Timely Revision
The best way to improve memory skills is proper revision before the exams. You should revise a minimum of 2 to 3 times before the exam; the maximum is up to you.
Reading Technique
While you are reading for the third time, after completing each chapter, try to solve 3 to 4 prelims questions related to that chapter and one or two mains related questions.

If you are a UPSC aspirant, you must have had this experience that, irrespective of how many times you have read a chapter of any book, you will fail to recall key points.
