70 years after the cheetah's extinction, the Indian government is all set to introduce them in the Kuno wildlife sanctuary,MP.

The Asiatic cheetah was declared extinct in India in 1952 and is a critically endangered species surviving only in Iran.
Project Cheetah aims to bring back independent India’s only extinct large mammal – the cheetah. As part of the project, 50 cheetahs will be introduced in various National Parks over five years.
Eight African Cheetahs from Namibia will be translocated to Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park on September 17.
From Namibia To Kuno
The cheetahs will be brought from Namibia to Jaipur and from there will be shifted to Palpur in Kuno.
Some grasslands in Kuno are bigger than most at Kanha or Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve which will help Cheetah in hunting.
Two helipads have been developed inside the National park for cheetahs.
