Central and state governments must target elimination of hunger while taking stock of registration of workers in unorganised sector, mostly migrant, on eShram portal.
Madhya Pradesh is in an extremely alarming condition in terms of malnutrition, under-weight children, and mortality rate.

Registered Workers
28.26 crore workers — 73.7% of the target — were registered as of September 19 on the e-portal.
Uttar Pradesh and Odisha have exceeded their targets. Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, and Himachal Pradesh registered more than 90% of targeted workers.

Maharashtra (38%), Karnataka and Tamil Nadu (both 37%), and Telangana (36%).
Advocate Prashant Bhushan said as 94% of the registered migrant workers earn less than Rs 10,000, making them eligible for subsidised foodgrains. Their population translates to 25 crore people.
Government's Response
Per capita income has increased in real terms by 33.4% in eight years. 18-19 crore more beneficiaries registered under the NFSA in the last eight years.
India stands at 107th position on the Global Hunger Index, which is indicative of a huge segment of the workers who are still sleeping hungry.
