Do You Know the Difference Between Total and Annular Solar Eclipse?

Eclipses fall into two primary categories: Solar Eclipses and Lunar Eclipses.

Let’s look into the different aspects of Solar Eclipses, an interesting Celestial Event:

Solar Eclipse:  When the Moon moves in front of the Sun, it creates solar eclipses and cast a moving shadow on the surface of the Earth.

Lunar Eclipse:  When Earth passes between the Sun and the Moon and casts a shadow on it, then a Lunar Eclipse takes place.

2023 will witness total 4 Eclipses. 2 will be Solar Eclipses and another 2 will be Lunar Eclipses.

As we all know, the 1st Solar Eclipse of 2023 occurred on 20th April, 2023.

The Solar Eclipse of 20th April, 2023; also known as Rare Hybrid Surya Grahan falls under the ‘Total Eclipse’ category.

On 14th October, 2023; the world will witness an ‘Annular Solar Eclipse’, the last Solar Eclipse of 2023.

A ‘Total Solar Eclipse’ takes place, when the Moon completely covers the Sun.

An ‘Annular Solar Eclipse’ occurs when the Moon obscures all, but an outer ring of the Sun.
