What Is NIOS? Know About The On-Demand Examination

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), which was set up as an autonomous body by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, proudly stands as the popular education board in India and sits only behind CBSE and ICSE. This is one amongst the largest open schooling systems in the world with over 3.62 million learners already certified in the secondary, senior secondary and the vocational education courses since 1991. This is a platform for students to complete their education in private mode.

NIOS was established with an aim to provide education to those sections in the society who could not attend regular schools. The most important objective of NIOS is to help students who failed in class 10 and class 12 to complete their education in the same year with the On-Demand Examination facility.
