Important Topics In The JEE Main Mathematics

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is around the corner. As the exam date for both online and offline mode scheduled in the month of April, students should put in all their efforts in the last days of preparation to clear the examination.

We understand that it's a bit difficult for any student to manage the board exams on one end and JEE preparations on the other. The only way to bring home the bacon is to assume that it is a continuous process.

The Mathematics section in the JEE is fully based on the formulae and calculations. Topics To Study First

A total of 16 units are there in the Mathematics subject, however, carrying every unit in the last days of preparation, is not a good idea. Students should be thorough with the topics such as probability, definite integration, quadratic equation, permutations & combinations, vector & 3D geometry, complex numbers, differential equation, coordinate geometry, determinants and application of derivatives.

Extremely Important Topics

The above addressed topics are to be covered first in the JEE Main preparation; however, the topics that are going to be discussed are extremely important and one can expect more than 20 percent of questions from these topics. They are - 3D geometry, integration, probability and statistics, parabola, vector algebra, complex numbers and trigonometric ratios.

Scoring Topics

There are a few topics that are scoring in the JEE Main because the concepts are very clear and fundamental. However, avoid mistakes while answering because there is a negative marking. The topics are applications of derivative, limit and continuity and matrices and determinants, sequence and series, circles and inverse trigonometric functions.

Never Neglect Topics

With mastering the above topics, most of the students can clear the examination. However, students are suggested to go for at least one-time reading on the last day of preparation because around 4-5 questions are expected on these topics: logarithms, theory of equations, differentiation, binomial theorem, hyperbola, locus, solution of triangle and ellipse.
