India is growing immensely in every sector and IT is one of them. IT companies have been founded in abundance now which are not limited to the old and established firms, such as Wipro and Cognizant, but start-ups are also flourishing rapidly. All of this ultimately results in the skyrocketing need for manpower, especially for developers and testers.

Amongst all the educational qualifications available in India, the most booming is engineering which sees lakhs of students passing out every year. A majority of these students aspire to land up in a multinational or good revenue-generating company which can pay well. However, the high expectations of companies in terms of skills result in many job seekers being rejected, which gives rise to the idea that there aren't enough jobs out there.

How To Crack An Interview For Freshers

The fact is, for people who can prove themselves capable, there are jobs in abundance. IT companies are on the consistent hunt for skilled employees which gives you an ocean of opportunities. But, before you go on to start appearing for the interview processes, there are a few things you should know about interviews in IT companies.

Review Your Resume

Even before you sit in front of the interviewer, your resume is the first thing reviewed by the recruiter. And, as we say, first impression matters, the resume is your tool to create your first impactful impression. Include all your relevant details in clean and readable manner while highlighting those achievements and projects which the recruiters would find useful.

If you have an exceptional talent, you must mention that clearly in your resume which sometimes creates an impact on your profile.

Prepare For Aptitude And Written Test

When we say interview, many people imagine sitting in front of the jury who will be asking questions. However, in order to filter out capable candidates from a huge queue of job seekers, most of the organisations conduct an aptitude test which is the first hurdle to get past.

Freshers may also have this misconception that all the aptitude tests are easy, but they are not. You may be able to attempt a majority of questions, but to complete the paper on time, days of practise are needed. Thus, it is important that you have good practise beforehand.

Be Updated With Current Affairs

Group discussions and extempore speeches are often the next rounds after the aptitude test. This is where you need to be confident and put your opinion forward without being nervous. However, your confidence may get hampered if you aren't well versed with the topics provided to speak on.

Thus, it is important that you stay updated with the current affairs and happenings around the world, which will give you sensible points to speak about in front of the public.

Do Some Research About The Company

No matter for how long you have been desiring to get inducted in a renowned IT company, there may be instances when you have to prove it. In the HR round, the interviewer may ask you about the company or why you want to work there specifically. If you aren't able to answer this question properly, it shows that you aren't focussed on the position and the company.

In advance, do some research about the top officials of the company, its branches and the technologies they mainly work on.

Polish Your Communication Skills

Communication skills play a crucial role while working in an IT firm, which may act as the deciding factor in your selection process. You see, IT firms work on enormous projects in which many people are involved. And, these people may be from various states and countries. For smooth operation of the project, communication shouldn't become a barrier, which is why companies are particular about this quality.

By acquiring a reading habit, you can improve your communication skills and considerably increase your chances of getting selected in your dream company.

Be Brave And Confident

Even if you are a topper of your institution and know every nitty-gritty of all the subjects, your lack of confidence might take you down. While answering every question or while speaking in front of people, you should be highly confident, which puts a weight on your points even if you go wrong somewhere.

Besides, in order to test your pressure-handling abilities, the interviewers may behave aggressively and put a strain on you. However, you have to keep your cool and answer every question with ease. Even if you are asked tricky questions, all your answers must be positive. The quality of being optimistic is always an asset to the companies and it can help you land your desired job.
