Who Conduct The GMAT?

GMAT is owned by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), which was founded in 1963. This is a global non-profit association of leading graduate business schools. GMAC rolled out GMAT in 1954. GMAC is also popular across the world for providing market analysis and research surveys related to management admissions.

Why Take The GMAT?

GMAT stands as the most accepted standardised test for admission to management courses. The GMAT score is mandatory for admission to over 7,000 graduate programs worldwide. Annually, more than 2 lakh candidates take the GMAT exam.

GMAT Exam Pattern

The exam pattern of GMAT consists of four sections, namely Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning. The duration of this computer adaptive test is 3 hours and 30 minutes. It consists of 90 objective type questions. The test score range from 200 to 800 and each section is time bound.

GMAT Exam Fee

Candidates have to pay US$250 (INR 18,146) as exam fee. If a candidate wants to reschedule the exam within seven days of appointment, they have to pay US$250. The exam fee will not be refunded in the case of cancelling the exam within seven days of appointment.

Candidates have to create their own account on mba.com. Aspirants are advised to register for GMAT at least three months prior to the preferred test date. Here are the steps for GMAT registration.

What To Carry On GMAT Test Day?

The international travel passport is the GMAT approved identification.
The appointment confirmation letter or email received from Pearson VUE.
Prescription eyeglasses.
A Light sweater or light non-outerwear jacket.
Comfort items only if they were pre-approved as an accommodation received in advance.

GMAT Score

The GMAT exam measures the test-takers on verbal, mathematical, analytical writing, and integrated reasoning skills. The score range from 200 to 800. The official score is valid for five years and is available for reporting for up to 10 years. One can cancel the scores on test day following the score preview, or for a fee, within 72 hours from the scheduled exam time.

GMAT Retake Policy

Candidates can retake the GMAT exam by satisfying the below rules.
Once every 16 calendar days
No more than five times in a rolling 12-month period
No more than eight times total
