The Visvesvarya Technological Unviersity has postponed the semester exams scheduled to be held on December 27, 2017, owing to the Mahadayi protests in Uttara Karnataka. Exams for 1st, 3rd and 6th semester were to be held today.
Yesterday around 8 pm hoax circulars were taking rounds on most social media platforms stating that the examination scheduled to be held on 27-12-2017 has been postponed to 16-01-2018 beacuse of the Mahadayi protest in Uttara Karnataka.
Around the same time, there were other ciruclars stating different dates as the new exam dates. While the ciruclars were a hoax, VTU students panicked as most teachers and even college principals had no clue about the exam postponment.
VTU fake ciruclars have been a menace on social media and the university had also issued a cyber-complaint on the issue. The university officials have warned to take strict action on such hoax activities as they are distrurbing students' life.

The registrar of the university has urged the students not to believe in such circulars on social media, any changes in the examination datets or any other important development will be put on the university's website.
Owing to the Mahadayi issue in Uttara Karnataka the university had to postpone the semester examination scheduled for today. According to the registratr's announcement, the examination has been rescheduled to January 8, 2018.
The evaluation registrar of the univeristy, Prof. Satish Annigeri has released a circular with the rescheduled time table for the all the examinations that were supposed to be held today.
