UPSC Exam 2017 Updates: Deadline for Discrepancy and New Age Criteria On

Now, UPSC 2017 candidates have a chance to express their discrepancies in questions asked in the various examinations conducted by it.

IAS and IPS exams are among the top civil services recruitment tests that the Union Public Service Commission usually conducts. It has now opened lines for candidates to mark their grievances for the questions.

What does the official notification read?

"For each examination, a time frame of 7 days (a week) i.e. from the next day of the examination date to 6 PM of the seventh day is fixed for the candidates to make representations to the Commission on the questions asked in the papers of that examination," the UPSC notification read. "For example, if the paper of an examination is conducted on March 1, a candidate can make representation by 6 pm on March 8."


How to submit the UPSC exam questions discrepancies?

The representation must only be submitted online (by email at email Id -- and no representation by post/hand will be entertained, it said. "No representation will be entertained under any circumstances after this window of seven days is over," the UPSC said.

According to officials, the UPSC has for the first time fixed a time frame to submit the grievances in question papers.

In another development, the government had paid heed to the report of Baswan committee for examination.

What does the report contain?

The report was submitted about prospective changes in civil service exam pattern and age limit for the examination. The committee had submitted its report to Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on August 9, 2016 and the same has been taken up by the government for examination nearly eight months after submission. The committee had recommended reducing the upper age limit of 32 years for the exam.
