CBSE Released The UGC NET Results 2018

The autonomous organisation under the HRD Ministry, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), has released the University Grants Commission (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) 2018 results.

Candidates who have appeared for UGC NET 2018 can visit the official website to check their results. CBSE has conducted the eligibility test on July 8 in 84 subjects across 91 selected cities in the country. Over 11 lakh candidates have appeared for the examination.

Usually, CBSE takes more than two months to release the UGC NET results. The board has decided to release the results much earlier because of various reasons. The most important one is replacing the apex higher education regulator body, University Grants Commission (UGC), with the Higher Education Commission of India (HECI).

As per the report published by the HRD Ministry, the responsibility of conducting the UGC NET examination has been transferred to the newly formed National Testing Agency (NTA). Hence, this is the last UGC NET examination conducted by CBSE.

According to the HRD Ministry, the next edition of the UGC NET will be conducted by NTA in the month of December. The submission of the online applications will take between September 1 and 30, 2018. The examinations will be conducted between December 2 and 16, 2018. However, results will be declared during the last week of January 2019.

UGC NET, which is held twice a year, is conducted to select candidates for the Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) posts in Indian universities and colleges. Candidates who qualify in JRF have to pursue research in their respective postgraduate subject.
