As the famous TV show of India 'Kaun Banega Carorepati' goes off air, Google made two students of BITS Pilani a real 'Crorepati'. International company has hired two of BITS' students with the package of 1.44 cr, which is the highest that company has offered to anyone in the country.
By offering huge sack of money to these students, this package also becomes the highest package offered in the year 2013.
Thoppilan Romal Devassy and Kannan Sunder are the two lucky students who are being roped by the Google on a mammoth package. Both Mumbaikars are the students of BITS Pilani, studying in the seventh semester of computer science branch. This has become one of the milestone of BITS Pilani, as its two students offered a whopping $ 2,35000 annual package by Google.
Sunder says "No doubt, this is unimaginable for me to get placed in the most desired and named company of the world. My innings with Google will begin in the summer of 2014 in Mount View, USA." Same views are expressed by Devassy. Apart from them, Google has also shortlisted another student from BITS but are yet to issue the offer letter.
In this placement drive by Google, more than 100 students participated. The whole placement procedure consist of seven technical rounds, which also includes a written test. Another networking tycoon Facebook also visited BITS for the third consecutive year and short listed three students.
Among the Indian companies the highest offer bidders are Linkedin and Goldman Sachs Strategies. Both the companies offered a package of 28 lakhs per annum.
"More than 100 companies have visited so far to recruit from 327 undergraduate engineer (BE) students and 180 masters (ME) students in the first semester. About 90% students have been placed," says chief placement coordinator, Mani Shankar Dasgupta.
