Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) - India's largest IT service giant has begun its National Qualifier Test (NQT) registration process to help corporates and business houses hire beginners as well as professionals with minimum two years' experience amid COVID pandemic through its strategic unit TCS iON.
The NQT registration closes on October 17, 2020 with the entrance/aptitude tests to be conducted by TCS iON at its various centres as well as through offline mode owing to the pandemic scheduled from October 24, 2020 to October 26, 2020.
Talking about the NQT programme, TCS iON Global Head Venguswamy Ramaswamy told PTI, "NQT will now be a common gateway test for several participating corporates for their fresher recruitment programmes. This standardised test will provide candidates with access to open positions at multiple corporates giving millions of young jobseekers an opportunity to work for India's top corporates."
Adding further, Venguswamy said, "It will provide subscribing corporates with a well-rounded evaluation of candidates' abilities, and access to quality talent across the nation at speed and scale."
"The test acts as a single window for job opportunities across leading organisations in IT, BFSI, manufacturing, pharma, and FMCG sectors, including TCS," he added, as reported by Financial Express.
Stating that a large number of leading corporates and firms such as Godrej, Titan, Kirloskar, Croma etc. have shown keen interest in being a part of the NQT hiring process, the TCS iON Global Head said the company (TCS) is also in contact with several small business enterprises spread across 600 cities in India to help them hire local talent from the region based on their NQT score.
What is TCS NQT?
National Qualifier Test or NQT is a multi-level assessment test conducted by TCS iON to measure the competence level of individuals based on their cognitive abilities required for beginners, entry-level jobs; industry-specific knowledge and insights, and specialized skills enabling them to perform the job/task assigned to them.
The NQT process was introduced by TCS in 2018, and only last year, closes to 3.6 lakh students participated from approximately 2,600 colleges/institutes. It is conducted every quarter with score valid for at least two years.
Who Can Apply For TCS NQT?
Candidates who have passed their M.E/M.Tech/M.Sc/MCA/B.E/B.Tech; Degree/Diploma or equivalent streams in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 with minimum 60% marks or 6 CGPA can register for TCS NQT 2021 or TCS Campus Hiring YoP 2021 to get themselves placed with top corporates and business enterprises.
