The Rajasthan Government has announced summer vacations for all the schools across the state. The schools will be closed from April 22 to June 6. The government has taken the decision after imposing a 15 days lockdown and closure of all educational institutions in the state. The Department of Education of Rajasthan has announced that the decision of early summer vacation has been taken to contain the spread of COVID-19 infections. It has also asked the school teachers and students to remain in safe mode during the pandemic.
Rajasthan Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasra tweeted, "Departmental orders have been issued regarding summer vacations declared in schools. Take care of yourself and your family, be safe."
The Rajasthan Government has imposed 'Jan Anushasan Pakhwada' (public discipline fortnight) for a period of 15 days. Teachers are asked to work from home and prepare the exam results. They have also been asked to keep in touch with the school authorities and student regarding the assessment process.
Earlier, Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot has announced that the annual academic board exams of Class 12 and Class 10 have been postponed. He also announced that students of Class 8, 9 and 11 will be promoted to the next grade without exams. The revised date sheet will be released soon. The Department of Education has reduced the syllabus by 48 per cent for the academic year 2020-21.
