QS Asia University Rankings 2019: IIT Bombay Remains On Top

Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), which is popular across the world for publishing the World University Rankings, is all set to end the rolling year high with the back-to-back rankings. After releasing the QS BRICS University Rankings 2019 a few days earlier, QS has released the QS Asia University Rankings 2019.

The QS Asia University Rankings 2019 reflect a wide range of academic standards of the universities in Asia. This year, QS has increased the number of universities featured in the rankings from 450 to 505.

National University of Singapore (NUS), an autonomous research university in Singapore, has defeated the last year's first ranker Nanyang Technological University (NTU) from the same country to stand tall at the first position. The University of Hong Kong occupied the second position, followed by the Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Here are the top 10 QS Asia University Rankings 2019.

While coming to India's share in the QS Asia University Rankings 2019, it doubled its presence in this year edition. A total of 75 Indian universities featured in the QS Asia University Rankings 2019 with 40 new institutions. India is also the third largest contributor in the Asia rankings only after China and Japan with 112 and 89 universities, respectively.

IIT Bombay remains the top institution from India that moved up by one place to the 33rd position in the overall rankings. IIT Delhi occupied the 40th position followed by IIT Madras at 48th position and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) at 50.

QS used 11 indicators to rank the universities. The academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, the international research network and staff with a PhD are the major indicators used in the QS Asia University Rankings 2019.
