Patna High Court Lifts Stay On Recruitment Of 1.25 Lakh Teachers At Primary And Secondary Schools Across Bihar

The Patna High Court has granted a major sigh of relief to all those who have applied for the Bihar teacher recruitment at the primary and secondary government schools across the state last year by lifting a stay on the recruitment of 1,25,000 teachers revising its earlier order.

A division bench of Chief Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice S Kumar of the Patna High Court vacated stay on the recruitment of 1.25 lakh teachers after hearing petitions filed by the National Blind Federation and others alleging violation of Section 34 of 'The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016' in connection with the recruitment process by not honouring 4 per cent reservation to persons with disabilities.

During the hearting AG Lalit Kishore, AAG PK Verma and counsel Shilpa Singh appearing for the government apprised the court that it has rectified all errors and has permitted 4 per cent reservation for persons with disabilities, including blind people and has allowed 15 days' time for submitting fresh applications subjected to conditions.

The government further submitted that it needs at least four-month time to calculate all seats reserved for people with disabilities and notify them.
