NMAT 2016: Candidates can apply before October 5

Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) is conducting the NMAT 2016 and the registrations for the same are in progress and will be ending on October 5.


The NMAT 2015 is scheduled to be conducted over a period of 75 days, from October 6 to December 19.

Candidates will be given maximum of 3 attempts for NMAT. For candidates having multiple attempts, the best score (total and sectional) is considered for shortlisting purposes. There will be no negative marking. The candidates are allowed to select up to seven programmes, after clearing the exam for free. If the candidates wish to send their scores to more than seven programmes, they are required to pay an additional fee.

The scores of NMAT by GMAC will be accepted by SVKM's Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS).

Besides, institutes such as Ansal University, VIT University, SRM University, ICFAI Business School, BML Munjal University, Mody University, Thapar University, Shoolini University, NIIT University and Woxsen School of Business will also accept the scores.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Educational qualification:

Candidates should have acquired a Bachelor's degree in a related field with 50 per cent from a recognised university or institute. Candidates who are appearing for their final year exam are eligible to apply.

2. Paper Pattern

NMAT is a computer based test and consists of 3 sections: Language skills, quantitative skills and logical reasoning. The candidates will have to attempt 120 multiple choice questions with a duration of two hours. The timings of the each section is different.

  • North region: Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Lucknow
  • West region: Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Nagpur
  • South region: Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Koci, Chennai
  • East region: Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Kolkata, Patna
  • Central region: Indore, Bhopal, Bhillai

Few of these cities have multiple test centres.
