Amid the surge in Covid-19 cases in Madhya Pradesh, the Madhya Pradesh School Education Department (MPBSE) has decided to postpone the Class 10 and Class 12 Board Exams 2021. According to Madhya Pradesh School Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar, the board exam that was scheduled to take place from April 30, 2021, will now be conducted after May 30, 2021. The Practical exams will be held by May 15, 2021.
The department will soon release the official revised date sheet for MPBSE Class 10 and Class 12 Board Exam 2021. The decision was taken as students and parents demanded the cancellation of MP Board exams due to the rapid increase in the coronavirus caseload.
"The MP Board exams cannot be conducted as per the scheduled dates due to the ongoing situation. Fresh dates will be issued in the next few days. The dates for practical examinations have also been extended. The practical exams will be held by May 15," said Parmar.
In a circular shared by the MP School Education Department on Twitter, the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) stated that the exams for high school, higher secondary, and diploma in pre-school education (vocational course) that were scheduled to take place from April 30 and may 1 are now postponed by one month. The Madhya Pradesh government, on April 6, 2021, had given the option to students of Classes 9 to 12 to choose the mode of their examination amid a surge in Covid-19 cases. The students can opt for online or offline exams as per their choice. This rule is applicable for class 9 and 11 final exams, and class 10 and 12 pre-board exams.
Meanwhile, the MPBSE Board has already issued the admit card for Class 10 and Class 12 on its official website. Currently, it is available for school authorities, later the schools can distribute the admit card among students.
