Maharashtra HSC (Class 12th) Exams 2021 Cancelled

The Maharashtra Government has decided to cancel the Class 12th (HSC) board exams 2021 in view of the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Maharashtra School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad has confirmed that the HSC exams will no longer be conducted considering the health and mental well-being of students. She has also announced that students will be promoted based on the internal assessment. The MSBSHSE is likely to release the Maharashtra 12th evaluation criteria soon.

Maharashtra HSC (Class 12th) Exams 2021 Cancelled

Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad tweeted, "The Maharashtra Government has decided to CANCEL the Std.XIIth exams of the state board. Our stand was always clear that given the pandemic situation, health and mental well-being of our children MUST be everybody's priority."

Minister tweeted, "After extensive consultations with all stakeholders, we'd publicly & through various platforms expressed that the prevailing atmosphere is not conducive for the conduct of exams and that a 'Non Examination Route' must be considered for evaluation of Std. XIIth students."

She tweeted, "In view of the importance of these examinations, we've been pushing for a 'Uniform Assessment Formula" across India. #CBSE and the #CISCE have now cancelled their respective examinations. So, in line with our stated policy, the state board's Std XIIth exams also stand cancelled."

Gaikwad tweeted, "The criterion on the basis of which results will be declared for Std.XIIth & date of result declaration will soon be announced. The School Education Dept is committed to devising a "fair and objective" evaluation criterion."

Varsha tweeted, "As we move ahead, I'd once again request the Centre to VACCINATE all teachers & examination staff on priority before we conduct offline board exams in future. Maharashtra has demanded that all examination staff be treated as "Frontline Workers". Stay safe, Stay Healthy."

In April, the Maharashtra government has postponed the Class 10th (SSC) and Class 12th (HSC) board exams in view of the rising Coronavirus cases. The Maharashtra government has also decided to promote students of Classes 1 to 9 and 11 without any exams. It has cancelled the Class 10th (SSC) exams and released the evaluation criteria of the same. This will be a relief to lakhs of students who are eagerly waiting for the cancellation of SSC and HSC board exams.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting on June 1 and decided to cancel the CBSE Class 12th exams considering the health and safety of students.
Modi tweeted, "Government of India has decided to cancel the Class XII CBSE Board Exams. After extensive consultations, we have taken a decision that is student-friendly, one that safeguards the health as well as future of our youth."

The Maharashtra Board, MSBSHSE, will soon release the evaluation criteria for Class 12th (HSC) exams. The Board is likely to provide an option to students who are not satisfied with the results. However, the exams will be held when the conditions are conducive to conduct the exams.
