The Maharashtra Government has released the Class 10th (SSC) evaluation criteria to prepare the board result. The government has decided to promote the Class 10th students based on the internal assessment which have been cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. While addressing a press conference, Maharashtra School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said that the results will be declared by June end. Students who are not satisfied with the results will be given an opportunity to appear for the improvement of scores. However, the exams will be held when the conditions are conducive to hold.

Maharashtra 10th (SSC) Evaluation Criteria Out

In a series of tweets, Varsha Gaikwad has announced the policy of scoring and tabulation of marks for Class 10th students based on school-level announcements. The final result will be prepared by a result committee headed by the School's Principal/ Headmaster and comprising six teachers.

Minister Varsha Gaikwad tweeted, "Imp announcement: Given the pandemic situation & following the cancellation of state board exams for Std Xth, the government has permitted the board to pass ALL Std Xth students studying in schools affiliated to it, with internal assessments being done at school level."

She tweeted, "The policy for scoring & tabulation of marks for Std Xth students based on school-level assessments has also been finalised after deliberations with all the stakeholders. Students will be assessed out of maximum 100 marks for each subject. Final results will be based on subject-wise marks scored by a candidate in: (1) Internal written evaluation conducted during the year (30 marks). (2) Homework / oral exam / practical / internal assignments as per board's policy (20 marks). (3) final results of Std 9th (50 marks)."

Education Minister tweeted, "Any candidate who is not satisfied with the marks allotted with have the opportunity to appear in the next couple of examinations for improvement in scores to be conducted by the board after the conditions become more conducive to hold exams."

Gaikwad tweeted, "A Result Committee headed by the school's Principal / Headmaster & comprising six teachers will be responsible for finalization of results & safe keeping of records. The task is challenging, but I'm confident that our schools, teachers will live up to the task. Schools will be given timelines for various activities to allow the SSC board to declare results by June-end. The board will organize webinars, upload FAQs & set up helplines to give schools, teachers a detailed understanding of the assessment process."

She tweeted, "All schools, students and their parents are requested to read the guidelines carefully. I am confident that our schools & teachers will complete internal assessments with the highest degree of professionalism, consistency and care."

Earlier, Maharashtra has cancelled the Class 10 board exams and decided to promote all the students. The Class 12th exams were also postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
